THE SACRED TREE WORKSHOP WITH GLENNIE KINDRED Exploring 13 native trees of the British Isles
This varied workshop can take the form of a 2-hour talk, or extended to a 2 day workshop with many activities. These may include any of the following:
Trees for healing and spiritual development. Finding our sacred and healing connection to ourselves and the Earth through the trees. This includes communicating with the spirits of trees, ancient tree lore, tree meditations, tree ceremonies and guided visualisations. The Celtic tree Ogham – an ancient Celtic system of tree wisdom. Includes making and using Ogham sticks. The herbal uses of our native trees, including making herb teas and other preparations, gathering tips, drying and storage and dosage. Also how to make tree flower remedies. Natures spring tonics – A day in the woods. Identifying, collecting and nibbling leaves from native trees and other woodland plants for spring tonics and herb salads. The culinary uses of our native trees. Depending on the time of year, we will gather leaves, flowers or fruit for food and share recipes. How to grow trees from seeds or cuttings. Tree planting and after care. A guided tree walk, identifying our native trees (from a distance and close to), herb and tree lore, tree communing, collecting flowers/leaves/seeds and wood to use. The Celtic Tree Circles - Linking the trees to the seasonal cycles and Celtic festivals. Practical wood working with small pieces of native wood. This may include making talismans, pendants, healing wands, touchwoods or Ogham Sticks. Elementary wood working skills are taught. Also how to collect and store wood, the properties and uses (past and present) of wood from our native trees. Please bring your own penknife, everything else, including the wood is provided. Intuitive drawing and creative artwork as a way to develop our closeness to the spirits of trees. No drawing skills are necessary
